Gianna DiGirolamo was born and raised in Queens, New York. She first began her dance training in jazz and musical theater at her local dance studio, Landrum School of Dance, at the age of 3. She went on to expand her training at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts high school in Astoria, New York, where she studied ballet and modern. From there, Gianna continued to pursue her passion and explore modern and contemporary dance at the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College, graduating with the class of 2016.
Gianna has had the privilege to work with and perform pieces by several contemporary choreographers including MADboots, Jessica Lang, Jon Ole Olstad and Ori Flomin, and has also had the opportunity to perform in classical modern masterpieces such as Jerome Robbins' NY Export: Opus Jazz, Jose Limon's A Choreographic Offering and Martha Graham's Chronicle. Gianna joined VALLETO in March 2017, for the company's fourth season. In addition to dancing with VALLETO, she continues to freelance as both a dancer and choreographer.
