Meghann Padgett

VIDEOGRAPHER ASSISTANT

Meghann Padgett is a dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker based in New York City. She began her dance training in her hometown of Aiken, SC and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in dance from Columbia College in 2009. She has danced professionally with the Vibrations Dance Company, the Power Company, and the South Carolina Contemporary Dance Company, for which she performed Martha Graham’s Maple Leaf Rag under the direction of Miriam Barbosa. In 2013, Meghann became company assistant and dancer for Terrance Henderson’s T.O. Dance, Inc. While in Henderson’s company, she had the opportunity to perform his original works nationally, and she also participated in community outreach through dance residencies and workshops at regional schools and studios.

In the Spring of 2018, Meghann earned her MFA in Dance Performance and Technology from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. While at Tisch, she performed in the central duet for a restaging of Paul Taylor Promethean Fire, as well as in original works by faculty members Pam Pietro and James Martin. She currently creates her own choreographic and film work, and produces promotional material for NYC based dance companies, such as Dardo Galletto Dance, VALLETO, Gabrielle Johnson and Artists, and Peridance Contemporary Dance Company.
