Yasmin Schönmann is a dancer, choreographer, curator and film maker from Germany. She has received several scholarships, including Open Studios for promising young choreographers from Tanztendenz in Munich, to perform at Palamós Summer Dance in Spain and to be a Guest Choreographer at Tanztendenz/Munich. She further received a scholarship to train with the Pina Bausch Company in Wuppertal, Germany and has performed in Sweden, Spain and Germany after receiving her BFA in Dance from Iwanson International.
After moving to NYC she got the chance to work with Francesca Harper, Yoshito Sakuraba and Battery Dance, and was dancing for J CHEN PROJECT and InTW. Yasmin is the co-founder of Y+Y Dance and has been awarded the Danspace Residency for her outstanding work as a dance filmmaker. Yasmin is currently doing her Master in Dance and Technology at the acclaimed Tisch School of the Arts.
