"My goal is to inspire and open possibilities for artists who crave to develop their own artistic eye, style and their productions. Also to those who would like to expand their knowledge in other parts of production such as costume design."

Each class will focus on different aspects that make up VALLETO.
Ballet for Contemporary Dancers
This class will focus on ballet technique, through the lens of contemporary dance. We will explore sensation, musicality, expansiveness, and abandon, while being kind to our bodies and generous in our movement. Exercises will be given at barre and at center, and will be friendly for small spaces. All levels welcome!
Class will begin with a somatic warm-up, using influences such as modern dance and yoga to awaken the body. A guided improvisation will lead us into phrase work, where we will focus on musicality, clarity, expansiveness, and connection to the floor. We will challenge the body and use abstract concepts to nourish students’ artistic voices. Class will be friendly for small spaces!
Embodied Physiology Improvisation
MOVE through the different fluids and structures in your body in this hour long guided improvisation. This class is inspired by emergent themes in BodyMind Dancing classes. Come as you are!
Movement Research / Improvisation
Flowing through improvisation tasks, Megan will lead a guided movement research and exploration class. Providing tools, images, and ideas in order to enhance each individual’s personal research.
Offering new ideas and ways of thinking about movement, heightening the body’s senses, mind-body connection, and unlocking the purity of movement that is so unique to each and every one of us.
Self Portrait improvisation workshops are going to be two hours of reflection and exploration of the movement starting from one body part. After the definition of one body part I'll lead the investigation of it, digging into the meaning and expression of this body part, letting it influence our knowledge and perception of the movement. At the end of the session, new mobility of the body and awareness will be part of your dance vocabulary and skill.
SPACE begins at the intersection of gratitude and self-care, with creating space for oneself at the forefront. As Adie guides the class through movement exploration, her directive is to acknowledge and redirect impulses and habits that each individual finds themselves challenged with. This class will use fulfilling effort and energy exertion to guide the dancers past their physical limitations. The class will transition to experimentation with phrase work, to further discover new and expand on the innate choices we have been trained to make. She hopes that dancers leave with a renewed sense of connection between their mind, body, and the surrounding world.
Urban Contemporary Workshop
This workshop will introduce the participants to the fusion of 2 dance styles: Contemporary Dance and Urban Dance.
After a very dynamic and aerobic warm up, students will be initiated to a few specific techniques belonging to Urban Dances:
- Musicality exercise
- Rhythmicity of dance movements
- Body isolations
- Waving technique and flow, slow motion.
- Improv section where dancers will explore and blend all of these techniques - How to make your body talk ? Express emotions ? (exploration + discussion) The workshop will end with a choreographic phrase of my repertoire where I use these elements.
