Luciana Johnson, born in Eugene Oregon, trained predominately in ballet technique till the age of fifteen when she turned her focus towards modern dance.
She graduated in 2017 from the University of Utah’s school of dance with a BFA in Modern Dance. Through her years at the University she has worked collaboratively with many Professors and traveled through cultural dance exchanges to Berlin and Tel Aviv, studying under the instruction of Batsheva Dance Company.
Upon graduation she has moved to Los Angeles, California to continue her professional dance career as a collaborator and choreographer. She continues to seek artistic opportunities within the LA arts community and beyond. Her interest in the study of sexuality, nature, and the animalistic self continues to inform her own work and has instigated beautiful collaborations in the past, present, and she believes, future.
She is excited for the upcoming season with Valleto Dance and what this new virtual world has in store for the future of the arts.
“VALLETO celebrates all aspects of the divine feminine power. Valeria asks of her dancers to be vulnerable, to explore the strength, sensuality, sexuality and the many layers that make us the complex creatures that we are."
